Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

We all deal with too many problems, tasks, costs, and decisions—but not all of them matter equally.

In reality, a small number of causes usually create the majority of results or problems.
This idea is known as the Pareto Principle, or the 80/20 Rule.

The Pareto Chart Builder helps you quickly discover:

  • Which issues create most of the impact
  • Where time, money, or effort is actually going
  • What deserves immediate attention—and what doesn’t

Whether you are analyzing:

  • Business problems
  • Project delays
  • Operational costs
  • Quality defects
  • Customer complaints
  • Personal productivity issues

This tool helps you focus on the vital few instead of the trivial many.

WHAT THIS TOOL DOES (IN SIMPLE TERMS)

This tool:

  • Organizes your data from highest to lowest impact
  • Calculates individual and cumulative percentages
  • Visually highlights where most of the impact comes from
  • Helps you make better prioritization decisions

No complex setup.
No Excel formulas.
No prior Pareto knowledge required.

Pareto Chart Builder

Apply the 80/20 rule to identify the few causes creating the biggest impact.

Tip: Paste data from Excel, reports, emails, or type it manually. Categories may contain commas.

HOW TO USE THE PARETO CHART BUILDER

Just Copy and Paste The Data

  1. Copy two columns from Excel, reports, or documents:
    • Category (issue, cause, task, expense, etc.)
    • Value (count, cost, time, frequency, impact)
  2. Paste the data into the Paste Data box.
  3. Click “Build Pareto Chart”

The tool will automatically:

  • Sort the data
  • Perform Pareto calculations
  • Generate the chart and table

For example, you can test with the below data

Root Cause | Count
Login Issue | 50
Timeout | 20
Config Error | 10

HOW TO READ THE RESULTS

  • Bars show the size of each category
  • Cumulative line shows how impact adds up
  • Where the line approaches 80% → your Vital Few
  • Everything beyond → important, but lower priority
